Little U600 Firmware Tricks
Here are some little tricks, I think they are not known by everybody:
Flashlight: When you slide up your phone try pushing the up/down button at the side for about 1-2 seconds, this will activated the led light normally used for the camera. Now you can find your way in the dark 
When the mp3 player is minimized, you can control him by using your navigation buttons in the main screen.
Long hold the right navigation butten will bring up the next track in your playlist
Long hold the down navigation button will stop the mp3 player
Long hold the left navigation button will bring up the previous track in your playlist
Long hold the center navigation button (the I (internet)) button will pauze the track
We all know that the T9 text input of the samsung U600 isn’t great but here’s a little trick to let the list of wordt re-appear. Instead of placing the cursor directly behind the word to bring up the list (like sony ericsson) just place the cursor right before the word. That will bring up the list.

Pressing the voulme key for a couple of seconds would switch on the flash..

my flashlight comes on when i press and hold the volume keys in standby mode but only stays on for 20secs
anybody else having the same problem? :S

It’s normal that it only stays on for about 20 seconds. It’s a software feature. Maybe they’ll increase it in the next firmware versions.

They do that so that the flash doesnt drain the battery..
The flash in my ol nokia n70 used to drain the battery very quickly..

For the list of word to re-appear, i have placed the cursor right before the word, but nothing happen. The list of word did not reappear.
Any idea why?

How to change default menu style (I mean icons and colours). Does anybody know and can share this knowledge with us??

You can’t change the icons etc. The only thing you can do to change the look of the ui of the phone is by using the bright or dark menu interface.

My phone is freezing and turning its self off all the time recently then when it comes back on the G icon is at top of screen, was thinking maybe the firmware needs updating but after reading about them that if not used properly i could end up with a dead phone has put me off..anyone else having same problem or have updated firmware successfully??

no problems updating firmware. just follow the instructions properly
the G icon is the activated GPRS. you can turn it off: *#4777*8665# and choose “detach”

is there any firmware that can give me the option to cancel when i hit the back button while creating a message ? Currently it only gives me the option to save to drafts or to exit message altogether
